Hi everyone,
How are you doing? It's a bright Saturday morning here! I had a good night's sleep last night - after doing some 'weeding' ..... on my Y360!
For the gardener, weeding is necessary even though it can be an unpleasant task. Some of the weeds are pretty to look upon, little flowers brightly colored, such as dandelions, makes one contemplate why we are trying to replace their splendor with a periwinkle or petunia. But sometimes the garden can choke itself with excessiver growth. Weeds will swamp your plants, robbing nutrients and moisture from the soil and, becoming taller, take light and energy that your garden plants need to thrive.
In the library world weeding is something necessary to do too. Weeding (also known as deselection) is an essential, though difficult, element of collection development that ensures the library's materials are useful and accessible. Every library's print collection is limited by the space available to house it, and collections should change over time to reflect changes in the community and in the library's goals. Weeding is a periodic or continual evaluation of resources intended to remove items that are no longer useful from the collection.
I am not being arrogant, nor am I condemning anyone. I am here not to have a collections of 'friends' or collecting a fans , I just wanted to have a FRIENDS who appreciate others as being their friend. With that in mind, I have deleted a so-called 'friends':
~ who have invited me to be their friend, but I have never seen their comments on my blog - except every now and then they appear (with different emoticon each time) on the 'quick comment section'. It makes me wonder why they invited me in the first place.
~ those I have invited as a friend. They accepted, but I rarely see them on my blog or my page. Maybe my blog is not up to their 'standard'. So, I should know my place.
~ those who keep apologizing for not visiting your blog - for whatever reasons that only they knew. But they write a new blog entry everyday, sometimes more than one entry per day! Yet they don't have time to visit/comment on your blog.
I think they like to have others as their friend (they have hundreds of them!), but they are not so sure if they want to be your friend. So I have to make decision for them.
Oops, it's a bright new day, I shall go back to my balcony garden and water the plants, and time for fertilizer too.

Have a great Saturday everyone!
Love - Larra
