June 28, 2007: Love & Like

In front of the person you love, your heart beats faster
But in front of the person you like , you get happy.

In front of the person you love, winter seems like spring
But in front of the person you like, winter is just a beautiful winter.

If you look into the eyes of the one you love, you blush
But if you look into the eyes of the one you like, you smile.

In front of the person you love, you can' t say everything on your mind
But in front of the person you like, you can.

In front of the person you love, you tend to get shy
But in front of the person you like, you can show your ownself.

Then person you love comes into your mind every 2 minutes.
You can't look straight into the eyes of the one you love
But you can always smile into the eyes of the one you like.

When the one you love is crying, you cry with them
But when the one you like is crying, you end up comforting.

The feeling of love starts from the eye
And the feeling of like starts from the ear.

So if you stop liking a person you used to like
All you need to do is cover your ears,
But if you try to close your eyes
Love turns into a drop of tear and remains in your heart forever after.

June 27, 2007: May I Hug You?

Relieving stress can be as simple as
hugging someone.
A cuddle releases the hormone oxytocin,
and lower stress hormones,
cortiso and norepinephrine.
Less stress, fewer zits,
go grab someone!

June 25, 2007: Today's Children?

Hi everyone,

How's your weekend?

It was just another Sunday yesterday - did my laundry, worked at my balcony garden, cleaned the house ( I hate dust!); except that I went for monthly (sometimes once every 2 months) henna treatment for my hair. I started with henna treatment since early this year when I sort of 'decided' that I am going to keep my hair long. In our society we believe that henna is good for the hair - besides stimulates hair growth, it will leaves the hair softer, shinier and easier to manage. I also love the cooling effects of henna - I just don't like the fragrant so much! It won't change the color of the hair, except for the grey hair of course . So besides a healthier hair, I also get to colored my grey hair! Psssst, if you ask Herb, he will say that he didn't see any grey hair on me! You're very kind Darling!

Oops, I better stop ramblings about henna before I influenced you guys to go for henna treatment. What I would like to share with you is something that I witnessed at the salon yesterday. While my hair is being steamed (for 1 hour after the henna is applied) , a lady and her 2 daughters entered the salon - the daughters are about 8 yrs and 13 years old. Nothing special about them actually, except that the way the elder girl wanted her hair to look like Victoria Beckham (VB)! The mother also emphasized that her daughter wanted the VB hair style! The hairdresser, a Malay lady (I have been her regular customer for almost 3 years now) being in her late 40s doesn't know how Victoria Beckham hairstyle looks like! She even asked who is VB? While the mother was flipping through the magazines at the salon - looking for VB picture I suppose, the hairdresser asked the girl why didn't she brings the picture along. NOW, the way she replied is something that stucked in my mind! With her upleasant (I won't say rude) and loud voice she said: "I don't have time to look for one"!

To my surprise the mother didn't say anything! If she's my daughter, I'll surely slap her on her face - or at least teach her a lesson, by asking her to apologise! I remember how my late mother brought us up - we were not allowed to raise our voice to the elders, not just to mum and dad, BUT any elder persons! That's it! But I suppose, time has changed, the value has also changed. Sigh.

Anyway, the hair finally got cut - after lots of explanations, questions and answers taking place. So, my henna treatment yesterday was quite entertaining. For those who are curious about VB hairstyle - this is how the hair finally looked like! (sort of...) . Maybe I can consider this for my new hairstyle - is it OK Hon?

June 12, 2007: Tuesdays with Morrie

"Have I told you about the tension of opposites?" he says.
The tension of opposites?
"Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, but you are bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know it shouldn't. You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted.
"A tension of opposites, like a pull on a rubber band. And most of us live somewhere in the middle."
Sounds like a wrestling match.
"A wrestling match?" He laughs.
"Yes you could describe life that way."
So, which side wins? I ask.
"Which side wins?"
He smiles at me, the crinkled eyes, the crooked teeth.
"Love wins. Love always wins."

June 09, 2007: You! (Kau)

you
have been there
for too long
same beauty before your eyes
same sky when night fall
come out
collecting shells on the shore
climbing trees on grandma backyard
searching mushrooms in the woods
or
just play in the puddles after heavy rain
come out
=
kau
sudah terlalu lama
di situ
menyaksikan keindahan yang sama
langit yang sama bila malam tiba
keluarlah
mengutip karang di pantai
memanjat pokok di belakang rumah nenek
mencari cendawan di hutan
atau
bermain lopak air setelah hujan teduh
keluarlah

June 09, 2007: Weeding Time!!!

Hi everyone,

How are you doing? It's a bright Saturday morning here! I had a good night's sleep last night - after doing some 'weeding' ..... on my Y360!

For the gardener, weeding is necessary even though it can be an unpleasant task. Some of the weeds are pretty to look upon, little flowers brightly colored, such as dandelions, makes one contemplate why we are trying to replace their splendor with a periwinkle or petunia. But sometimes the garden can choke itself with excessiver growth. Weeds will swamp your plants, robbing nutrients and moisture from the soil and, becoming taller, take light and energy that your garden plants need to thrive.

In the library world weeding is something necessary to do too. Weeding (also known as deselection) is an essential, though difficult, element of collection development that ensures the library's materials are useful and accessible. Every library's print collection is limited by the space available to house it, and collections should change over time to reflect changes in the community and in the library's goals. Weeding is a periodic or continual evaluation of resources intended to remove items that are no longer useful from the collection.

I am not being arrogant, nor am I condemning anyone. I am here not to have a collections of 'friends' or collecting a fans , I just wanted to have a FRIENDS who appreciate others as being their friend. With that in mind, I have deleted a so-called 'friends':

~ who have invited me to be their friend, but I have never seen their comments on my blog - except every now and then they appear (with different emoticon each time) on the 'quick comment section'. It makes me wonder why they invited me in the first place.

~ those I have invited as a friend. They accepted, but I rarely see them on my blog or my page. Maybe my blog is not up to their 'standard'. So, I should know my place.

~ those who keep apologizing for not visiting your blog - for whatever reasons that only they knew. But they write a new blog entry everyday, sometimes more than one entry per day! Yet they don't have time to visit/comment on your blog. I think they like to have others as their friend (they have hundreds of them!), but they are not so sure if they want to be your friend. So I have to make decision for them.

Oops, it's a bright new day, I shall go back to my balcony garden and water the plants, and time for fertilizer too.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

June 06, 2007: Which Tarot Card Are You?

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.
The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

I am like a book,

to be ready when occasion demands

June 05, 2007: Herb's Garden

This morning (at about 1 am H's time, lol) .... H took me to his garden .......

I can see wisteria welcoming us from far .....

Isn't this Wisteria floribunda 'Alba'? The violet/blue color look so soft ...

Ohhh, we passed by the Damson Tree in foliage with Victoria Plum to the left ......

The Damson might be ready somewhere in July or early August. And I will get a chance to try H's best jam!

Oh look, there's Quince too .... H said he will cook some Morocon dishes in August using these quinces.

Oops, did you see what I just saw? Shhhhhh, Shar ..... there's strawberry in H garden too ... alpine strawberry.

Ohhh, just look at this flower .... H's favorite Clematis ... variety of Nellie Moser

I like the combination color of nellie moser. I can imagine myself wearing white 3 quarter pants or palazo with pale lilac/mauve blause ......

Oh, another white flower ..... what could this be Hon?

What about this flower? Or is it a weed?

Shhhhh, H is cooking asparagus for lunch ..... Are you sure it's asparagus Hon? Look like a bamboo to me ...

Ohhhh, there's a lot more to see in H garden .... but right now my tour guide is sleepy ..... it's almost 2 am ..... he can hardly recognise the flowers ....... I better let him has his beauty sleep .....
