H was on holiday in Malaysia recently and one of our holiday destinations this year was Sarwak (East Malaysia, located in Borneo Island). Mulu National Park is Sarawak's biggest national park and is known for it huge and impressive caves.Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave were two of the famous caves that we visited while at Mulu National Park. Each cave has its own unique features. Wind Cave was so named because of the cool breeze that can be felt at the narrow parts of the cave. It also has many impresive stalactites, stalagmites, flowrocks, helitites and rock cords. While the Clearwater Cave is Asia's longest cave, i.e. 107 km.
Ooh, have to come back around later to see. How are you Larra?
ReplyDeleteHi Jule! I am good, thank you. Herb was here on holiday (together with his sister) for 3 weeks and flew home on 11 Feb 2012.
ReplyDeleteAmazing rock formations ...
ReplyDeleteStalactites I presume ...
ReplyDeleteAre those rocks or trees on the right Larra ?
ReplyDeleteThey're rocks aren't they ...
ReplyDeleteIt must have been quite a job constructing this walkway.
ReplyDeleteA great set of photos Larra ~ I really enjoyed looking through them.
ReplyDeleteThose are rocks Charlie.
ReplyDeleteYes, you are right :)
ReplyDeleteThey are certainly unusual Larra.
ReplyDeleteI supposed so. The national park authority tried not to disrupt the nature.
ReplyDeleteWalking along the edge like this and along the river reminded me of similar walk that we had in Southern France when we walked up to a village called St. Cirq Lapopie.
