The most memorable day in England (Summer 2011)

Speechless. That would be the best word to describe my situation when H told me there's a field of red poppies on our left (it was hidden by some trees and I have fallen asleep  while H was driving). We were driving back from Oxford, already exited the motorway and driving through Cotswold to our next destination Bourton on the Water. I always seen picture of beautiful poppy field in Spain on flickr and I always dream of seeing poppy field while holiday in Spain. Alas it never comes true  . It never occurs to me that my dream would be fulfilled in England

This is what we saw from far

Whispering grass.

When I saw you standing there ....

The red poppies sharing secret :)

Call me crazy, but I have fallen in love ...... with red poppies

Thank you to my driver cum the love of my life for not falling asleep while driving, otherwise we would have missed the poppy field

  1. It was fortunate for me, because your Original Dream was for me to have a host of red poppies in my Garden. But the seeds that I had sown did not bloom until after you had left!

  12. I thougt so too .... any sane man would stop and take some photos :) But strange though .... not many car stopping. Maybe because it was hidden by those trees. We were coming from the road behind those big trees in the second photo actually. H took a left turn at the junction ahead of us, in trying to get closer to the field. The first photo was the view from that road. When we have finished taking photos there was another guy stopping to taken photos and we told him the best entrance (among the bushes) to get access to the poppy field :)
