Larra's Coming Home

Yesterday was a quieter day - only about a dozen for lunch - and it was a special dish normally served at certain religious occasions - with lots of photos taken so I shall leave the description to larra when she retuens with photos.

But today (Sunday) she is returning to Kuala Lumpur. Dhe will leave Kulim in about 1 hour and the journey will take anything from 5 hours to 14 hours depending on the traffic.

If it is relatively short you can expect her to be online soon after returning - if it is anything like 14 hours she will probably go straight to bed,

Family Re - union

I teased Larra when she told me they were not cooking breakfast - but buying ready made at the market?

I forgave her when she told me they were cooking lunch for a large family gathering.

Later she told me which of her family turned up for lunch.

Long Beans

Ulam (selection of grated raw vegetables and flower buds)

I don't know if she used flowers from her garden

Lots of rice dishes

There were 17 assorted siblings and in-laws nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews.

News from Larra

As some of you may be aware, Larra went back to her family state of Kedah for the Chinese New Year in 2007 and so did half of Kuala Lumpur - Nose To Tail Traffic ALL The Way - the journey took 14 hours.

This year I am happy to say that they left at 6:00 AM and at 11:00 AM (the motorway was fairly quiet) the journey was complete in only 5 hours, and she was safely home in her own house.

She managed to sleep for much of the journey, her nephew was driving - so all in all it was a far easier trip.
